Quick planning is still planning. It does not need to be an all day "vision board" process. Take 5 minutes and jot down your current projects. Don't turn a blind eye to the things that you know are the most important. Now breakdown these projects into bite size tasks that can be accomplished in smaller windows of time. Here are your stepping stones to make this project happen! Now use these stones (your project plan) to get moving on this important project.
We are constantly feeling overwhelmed with so much on our plates and see articles about "accomplishing our to do lists". Often times these lists actually are time sucks for the things that really need to get done (your stepping stones identified above). We use these lists as a scapegoat for why we are not getting to the important (the big impactful, sometimes scary, hard to do, top procrastination tasks, cringe worthy) projects that we dream about or know we need to do to take us to where we want to go. Each day be sure to add a few stepping stones on your "to do" list - this way you will be accomplishing your important projects. I have heard this saying before "sometimes the things that scare us the most are the ones that are calling us." Head towards these fears even if it means taking baby steps, or even crawling ~ both are still taking you forward towards the end result.
I had a conversation with my daughter today about nooks and crannies of your day. We were trying to find time to review flashcards for a science test. I was showing her how often we have 5 minutes to review for the test instead of cramming the night before. Each 5 minute increment adds up at the end of the week, month, year. Imagine spending 5 minutes a day on a project you have been avoiding? That is 35 minutes a week (doesn't sound like much) but a month later you will have dedicated 2+ hours to that project.
5 minutes a day - it's a choice. We all have nooks and crannies in our days. What are you putting off?
